Today as I work my way to pick up little man, I put in my favorite CD…..let me rephrase, ONE of my favorite CDs…..IDLEWILD by OutKast. I love all the songs but my favorite is Morris Brown.
Now ANY music lover, band geek, or even those who like the movie ’Drumline’ alike knows that morris brown is a famous Marching Band. I do love them but my favorite Marching Band is A&T…hehehe GO AGGIES Here is a video of Morris Brown In Action: 
Well, the song Outkast did has sweet visions and remixes of some awesome Marching Band Drumming and sounds. I got to thinking about my life an how much I actually miss being a part of the band in high school. My junior year of high school was the best year, 1995. At that time, it was an awesome thing to be in the band and there were several of the ‘popular’ kids that were involved. It was a great experiance that I had and I miss it much.
I started to realize that my hopes are not over, just yet. LM is only 16 months old and he already loves music. When music comes onto the TV, he automatically either starts to dance or turns and watching the TV until it was over. As soon as I had the thought of missing band, I realized that maybe, JUST maybe, my son will take over my musical talents and passion and want to be a part of the band.
Sad thing is, my band of 295 has dwindled to probably no MORE then 50 people if that. I do plan, however, to be a part of the music program and see what I can do to help bring it back around. I do feel band is a MAJOR part of a child’s life and they should want to be a part of it.
